Choices

Another morning in the Vineyard brought late-risers...with the exception of G, who had peddled off to The Black Dog to write before the rest of us stirred. After he came home we were left with choices-which body of water to head to today. It's a rough life, let me tell you! We ended up at the Vineyard Haven harbor just a mile away from the house. Although the water was chilly the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves-working mostly on an elaborate castle with moates, rivers and a heavy duty wall. G stood guard as the jelly fish wrangler. They were certainly out today, but Carver and G took great care to keep them away from the play area and we all made it back home with nothing more than rosy cheeks and another day of memories. the view from my perch on the beach

Seaweed-of every shape, color and size; Springer especially liked the pink seaweed.

I have no idea why she wanted to wear this intertube and lay in the sand to dig...that's just Springer!

The castle in progress.

Springer must have rinsed off three times before we ever really got her out of the harbor. She'd rinse off, run back to the sand, roll in the sand and then go back to the water. She couldn't get enough of it. Thank goodness for the wonderful outdoor shower-with hot water!
