Private Beach & Last Minute Sunset

Another great day-because it's late I'll just hit the high points. As usual G wrote at The Black Dog this morning. While there he noticed an older lady struggling to carry her cane and two cups of coffee to her car. Being the (mostly) Southern man that he is he offered to help. She (being from these parts and not used to such chivalry) was completely floored and ended up inviting us to use her home's private beach at any time. So, this is where the afternoon found us....painful, yes?

G showed Carver the fine art involved in skipping rocks...
Springer, as usual, needed no help!

After a nice dinner on the deck G and I sat and read the paper while the kids ran around the yard playing hide and seek. As he was scanning the news he came across the tide report...and realized that the sun was setting in Menemsha (the best place on the island to watch the sun set) at 8:25. We quickly put the kids in their pajamas and headed to the coast. We made it just in time to enjoy a stroll on the board walk before saying good night to the sun.
