Snorkeling

Joseph Sylvia State Beach
Oak Bluffs, MA

Carver's been asking for a snorkel and today we finally found one (harder to do than you'd think given that we're on an island!). We headed back to the beach we enjoyed yesterday for him to try it out. Before I forget...yesterday he took to the waves in an amazing way. He's never been fearful of the ocean but neither was he excited about having the waves come over his head. Not the case yesterday; we couldn't get him out of there. He jumped waves, he dove under, he swam, he laughed, he squealed-he had a blast!
Today proved no different; although the waves were calmer they provided the perfect conditions for snorkeling. Although he doesn't think he's snorkeling-he calls it 'scuba'. Springer calls it 'scooby dooby duba'! Regardless of what he calls it once he got the hang of it, and realized he actually could breathe under water, he swam and floated like a pro.
